The work presented on this site is that of Marijke Groothuis, a digital artist from Australia. Rather than making composits of parts of images, Marijke works predominantly with all the pixels in each of the images used. It is not unusual for a piece to end up having 5 - 8 different images inside it, and anywhere between 100-200 layers, before it gets merged into its final single-layer image.
As well as working with digital images, Marijke also likes to experiment with the Open Source fractal program Apophysis. The resulting fractal flames are often incorporated in her work.

All the images shown on this website are for sale, except "Choices" in the Exhibition Gallery.
